About Us

The idea behind Transgression park came about when one of the team was training for an equity stuntman qualification. They were looking for a place to try things like setting themselves on fire, falling down stairs, falling from heights and other silly things – in a well controlled and safe environment of course!

They tried all the local sport centres and venues with the right space, but for some reason no one was willing to let them train!! So the idea they came up with was to create their own venue with enough space to train. Not being made of money the only way to afford such a venue was to make it attractive to enough people that it would pay for itself. Hence the Transgression Park idea was borne – urban freesports all in one venue.

So team member number one approached number two - an architect. He liked the idea, and joined the team. The local newspapers ran a few stories which were read by team member number three, who then contacted us. He brought with him a great business plan, contact names, years (and we mean years!) of experience, and oodles of enthusiasm. So all we needed now was some dollar!

So we set up EHX (www.e-h-x.com) and ran a few events. We got loads of help from Dave Sowerby, the Edinburgh BMX lads, all the Edinburgh breakdance crews, free runners, trickers, and extreme unicyclist. We banked all the money from the events, added all we had in savings, spoke to almost every property company in Edinburgh and ended up where we are now with Transgression Park.

The park was built by Dave and the BMX guys, who received no pay for what they did. You are reading these pages now because of the generosity and hard graft shown by these guys. If you see them in the park – walk up to them, and give them all a BIG hug!

Thanks guys – we love you all!
